What is the issue?
When connecting a CoinTracker account to TurboTax, some users are seeing an error that shares a message that their data could not be auto-filled or an unexpected error while trying to connect (Error 5000).
TurboTax currently limits imports to 1,000 capital gain/loss transactions. If your account exceeds this limit, the import may fail.
Who is affected?
Users who have a high transaction count for the tax year and are trying to connect their CoinTracker account to TurboTax.
As a user, what should I do?
We’re working with TurboTax to increase this limitation, but in the meantime you can manually add your tax information
following this workaround here
, or file using one of the other filing options listed on our tax page. You can also upvote this forum post. Once TurboTax has increase this limitation, this report will be updated to
Complete
. Those who have upvoted will be notified of the update. Keywords: auto-fill return error, transaction limit, CoinTracker tax report, TurboTax integration, return generation issue

there is still an open bug when some users with many transactions still can't download 8949, so double blocked.

Matthew S. - CoinTracker - I am not given the option to download my unified 1099-DA under the TurboTax section like the instructions show.

Matthew S. - CoinTracker I still only have an option to sync under Tax filing software. No option to Generate or download the 8949 attachment, so I am still stuck.

Matthew S. - CoinTracker
To find the download option of your 8949 attachment file, please navigate to your Taxes page and select the 'Preview 2025 tax forms' option. The attachment file should be located within the tab titled: 'Tax filing software'

Matthew S. - CoinTracker I don't see the Form 8949 Attachment to download specifically.
I just see Form 8949 but according to Step 17 in your posted link I shouldn't upload that. (https://support.cointracker.io/hc/en-us/articles/44288763580561-TurboTax-customers-with-more-than-1-000-capital-gain-loss-transactions)
My question is: Does Form 8949 include the attachments and users have extract the summary pages from it or is there a completely different 8949 attachment file that I don't see on my side?
M
Matthew S. - CoinTracker
Xenia silver Meerkat You should have the option to download the specific attachment file within your Tax Center.
Within your Taxes page, select 'Preview 2025 tax forms' to view the attachment download option. If you're still not seeing that option available to you, please
reach out to the CoinTracker support team directly

Matthew S. - CoinTrackerI don't have a Preview 2025 tax forms page. I've already completed my taxes so I'm not sure if that is what is causing the error, but this is what mine looks like. I still can find no option to download the attachment. Only the full form like the user above stated.

Still Toad: Hello, if the 8949 attachment is not displaying as an option within your Tax Center, you should be able to connect your CoinTracker account directly on TurboTax, without having to go through the manual workaround. The manual workaround would only apply to users who have more than 1,000 capital gain/loss transactions for the 2025 tax year.
In this case, if you have less than 1,000 transactions and are still experiencing an error message when connecting your CoinTracker account on TurboTax, could you reach out to
our support team directly?

I can't believe this hasn't been resolved yet - $600 for Ultra - what's the hold up?

Wow. Seeing the comments below is not encouraging. I will give this a week or two but then I will need a refund if it isn't resolved. I'm not waiting until the last second.

It's been almost a month without any traction on this. Cointracker doesn't deserve our money

Does anyone know if this problem can be fixed by switching from turbo tax to H&R Block

It is actually insane :D Last year I got limited on freeusatax because my 8949 was exceeding 2 mb (they had 16 mb limit, and my file was 18 mb fully compresesed with no more room). I had to switch to Turbotax instead in order to file tax last year. In 2024 they used condensed type of form and it was 3500 individual transactions (in condensed type). Why they decided to limit it to 1k only God knows. For full form I would have 100k+ unique tickers, it is insane that we are locked because of that lol.
Funny, but in 2024 when I questioned freeusatax about their limitation, they said me, go ahead and print your 8949 and manually send to IRS lol, imagine printing 6000 paper pages and send track to IRS, what a joke.
